Blue Flower Yoga is a kriya yoga practice. Kriya yoga is a combination of spiritual techniques that enable the practitioner to balance the energies of the body and the mind to attain enlightenment. In kriya yoga, we follow the ashtanga (eight-limbed) path set forth by the great sage, Patanjali. This path is also known as Raja Yoga, the Royal Path. The kriya techniques we use are thousands of years old and when they are mastered will take the yogi to total freedom! You can achieve such freedom in this lifetime.
The eight limbs are:
1.Yama/Abstentions
2. Niyama/Observances
3. Asana/Postures
4. Pranayama/Life Force Control
5. Pratyahara/Sense Withdrawal
6. Dharana/Concentration
7. Dhyana/Meditation
8. Samadhi/Bliss Consciousness
Blue Flower Yoga offers vigorous asana instruction, but only as a tool to reach samadhi. One must learn to sit for prolonged periods of time while practicing dharana and dhyana. The asanas provide us with a healthy mind and body, capable of withstanding the rigors of a serious yoga practice. The mastery of the asanas takes time and discipline. Do not expect instant results!
The postures, however, represent only one branch on the tree of yoga. Anyone serious about achieving enlightenment must embrace ALL eight limbs of this rich and ancient tradition. There is so much more to you than this physical body! Why stop there? Bring these sacred yogic teachings to life by devoting time and energy into discovering your true, divine nature. By following Patanjali's blueprints, you will experience ease of well-being and peace as never felt before.
Yoga philosophy is an incredible, systemized approach to achieving super consciousness. Kriya yoga is inclusive and is accessible to anyone of any faith, religion or philosophy. The kriya system of self-realization is easy to understand, challenging and incredibly rewarding. This is a practice of joy and of love. This practice does not discriminate and is open to all seekers.
